The orientation program of newly admitted students of Basic B.Sc. Nursing and DGNM was organized on January 9, 2021, at Lecture Hall, PSMC, Karamsad. Students and their parents were formally welcomed and introduced to the culture of the College, Campus, and University.
The orientation began with a brief inaugural ceremony and welcome speech by Principal, Mrs. Raksha Parmar. Chief Guest, Dr. Utpala Kharod, Provost, Bhaikaka University addressed the new disciples and introduced them to Bhaikaka University. She motivated the students to give their best to the noble profession.
The students were oriented to various aspects of the programme such as the scope of the profession, regulations related to college, hostel, clinic, and examination by concerned faculty. Students were also informed about various committees available for their welfare. All departed by enjoying the delicious lunch.
Christmas celebration was organized on 23rd December 2020 by the SNA & CO- Curricular committee. The celebration started at 10:00 am with the bible reading by Ms. Anna Rao followed by carol singing by faculties. Mrs. Grishma Christian, In charge of General OT (Shree Krishna Hospital), delivered a Christmas message. Facebook live streaming of the Christmas celebration was done for the students to attend the function virtually. The function ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Shiney Christy. Furthermore, the secret Santa reveal was held for the faculties followed by Refreshment. Programme was successfully completed with the support and guidance of Mrs. Raksha Parmar, Principal, Shri G. H. Patel College of nursing.
The farewell program of 3 rd batch of Basic B.Sc. Nursing and the 37th batch of DGNM was organized on December 29, 2020, at the academic auditorium, Bhaikaka University, Karamsad. The program was started by welcoming Internship students with flowers followed by an invocation and Lamp lighting. Internship students of B.Sc. and DGNM shared the beautiful moments of their journey at G.H.Patel School and College of Nursing. The students were presented with a photo frame of their batch as a token of love. Principal, Mrs. Raksha Parmar, Class coordinators Ms.Vandana Shrimali and Ms. Swati Jadav addressed the students and wished them a bright future. Ms.Charmi D. Patel from B.Sc Nursing and Ms.Nikita Thakor from DGNM was awarded as best outgoing students. To add fun, various games were arranged for the students. The programme ended with a vote of thanks and the national anthem. All departed by enjoying the delicious lunch.
Shri G. H. Patel School and College of Nursing, a constitute of Bhaikaka University observed "World Mental Health Day" on October 10, 2020, by organizing a webinar on ‘Mental Health for all, Greater Investment - Greater Access’ by the Department of Mental Health Nursing. Eminent speakers of the day were Dr. Himanshu Sharma, HOD, Department of Psychiatry, Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad, and Dr. Ankur Mahida, Clinical Psychologist, SKH. They have enlightened the participants with their knowledge of the current scenario of COVID-19, its effects on mental health, and measures to build positive mental health. Students from TY B.Sc Nursing and SY GNM benefited from the session. Students also participated in various theme-based activities such as theme-based videos, doodle art, and posters.

Shri G. H. Patel School and College of Nursing celebrated World Diabetes day-2020 by hosting a webinar on the theme ‘Diabetes: Nurses make the difference on November 20-21, 2020. The programme was organized by the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, GHPSCN in collaboration with the Department of Medicine, Shree Krishna Hospital, Karmsad.
DAY-1: The webinar started on November 20 at 03:30 pm with the first session by Mrs. Nila Darji unfolding the theme. The second session was delivered by Dr. Jyoti Mannari and Dr. Punam Bhende on Self monitoring blood glucose levels, the Role of diet and exercise, and Care for diabetes complications. Both sessions were quite interactive and informative. A total of 110 participants joined the sessions through Zoom and live Streaming on YouTube.
DAY 2: The first session on this day was by Ms. Nikita Chauhan on Nursing assessment, Nursing diagnosis, and intervention in diabetes care followed by Mrs. Anna Rao on Palliative care in diabetes. The last session was delivered by Dr. Jyoti Mannari and Dr. Punam Bhende on Insulin and devices for insulin administration and diabetic foot care. 157 participants attended the session.
An inter-collegiate essay competition was also held on the theme “Diabetes: Nurses make the difference”. Students from across Anand District participated in the competition. Participants were appreciated for providing E-Certificates.
Internship Nursing students (final year B.Sc nursing) of Shri G. H. Patel College of Nursing organized two days webinar on “Nursing management in COVID-19 at various points” for staff nurses on 27th and 28th July 2020 from 10 am to 12 pm under the guidance of Mrs. Raksha Parmar (Principal) and Ms. Disha Anjana (Tutor) as part of academic activity under subject Management of Nursing Services and Education. The topics covered were Pregnancy, childbirth postnatal care during COVID-19, Home care for people with suspected or confirm COVID-19, Infection prevention and control during health care when COVID-19 is suspected or confirmed, and care of pediatric patients, and breastfeeding during COVID-19. More than 40 staff nurses across the Anand district benefited from the session and clarified their queries.
Shri G H Patel School and College of Nursing organized a two days webinar on Vocational Guidance Program for nursing internship students on the 14th and 15th of July 2020 from 10 am to 12 pm. The topics covered were professional ethics and legality in nursing, the scope of nursing in India and abroad, the importance of professionalism, the need for professional membership, and interview techniques and preparation, which enable the interns to explore the world of choices available for making their careers. More than 60interns across the Anand district benefited from the sessions and clarified their queries with the experts.
