C. SNA & Co-curricular Committee

 

Vision

To develop the strong network of student nurses with an objectives of encouraging and cultivating leadership skill within SNA through membership (reflect on their services) render qualitative services ti the society.

Objectives

A. In leadership, the network :

  • Takes an active role in the advancement of high quality health care for all.
  • Represents the interest of its member on the SNA state board and in SNA support activities.
  • Greats a forum for exchanging ideas and knowledge among in members
  • Leads the development of relevant national nursing policy in collaboration with TNAI and State SNA board.
 

B. In education network :

  • Promotes certification program.
  • Provides continuing education and professional development relevant to network.
  • Engages with student nurses to ensure the future of specialized knowledge and nursing practice.
  • SNA provides a platform to nursing students to strengthen knowledge and skill will reflect in rendering qualitative nursing services to the community and the world by and large.
 

C. In Policy and advocacy, the network :

  • Speaks out on issue related to nursing
  • Establishes strategic partnerships and alliances to strengthen the collective voice of nurses on key issue and policies.
 

Rules and Regulations of SNA :

  • Staff and office bearers will be on permanent basis and students representative will be elected every two yearly.
  • Vacancies in the offices will be filled by the president on faculty approved.
  • SNA general body meeting will be held quarterly, it may be planned or as and when needed.
  • Students representative once elected will be hold position for 2years. In case of misconduct of office bearer will be changed immediately on decision of the president and other office bearers.
  • SNA adviser will be accountable for maintaining all SNA records.
  • Treasure will be accountable for all kind of financial affairs.
  • It is mandatory for each and every students to be member of SNA.
  • SNA membership fees will be payable annually and amount will be decided by the president , which is subjected to change.
 

Activities of SNA :

A wide varieties of activities are encouraged at unit, zonal, state and national level for the SNA membership which include :

  • Organization of meeting and conference.
  • Maintenance of SNA diary and exhibitions.
  • Public speaking and writing project undertaking.
  • Propagation of Nursing profession and fund raising.
  • Socio-cultural and recreation activities.

D. Students Grievance Redressal Committee :

It is common for all institutions come under roof of Bhaikaka University.

Objectives :

  • To support those students who have been deprived of the services of the institute, for which he/she is entitled.
  • To make officials of the institute responsive, accountable and courteous in detailing with the students.
  • To ensure immediate effective solution to the student's grievances with an impartial and fair approach
 

Functions :

  • Redressal of student's grievances to solve their academic and administrative problems.
  • To co-ordinate between students and departments / section to redress the grievances
  • To guide ways and means to the students to redress their problems.
 

Procedure :

  • The grievance submits in writing to the HOD/ or designated faculty of the grievance redressal cell, a detail narrative of the problem.
  • The cell will act upon those cases which have forwarded along with the necessary documents.
  • Investigation by the cell.
  • Action by the cell

E. Placement Cell :

The key requirement of any hospital to ensure uninterrupted as well as effective & efficient patient care is Nurses. Nurses are the ones who directly deal with patient immediately after a doctor consultation. They are the ones who take all care of their patients day-in and day-out. To have quality nurses with us who can deliver better patient care ultimately leading to unmatchable humane experience is our dream. GHPCN has established the Placement Cell to take care of all nursing requirement of the Mandal.

Objective :

  • To ensure availability of manpower with requisite qualities, skills, academic credentials and competencies resulting into uninterrupted patient care.
 

Members :

The placement cell primarily comprises of the following members as part of the screening and selection process:

  • Representative from HR
  • Principal – Nursing School & College
  • General Manager – HR
  • General Manger – Chief Nursing Officer
  • Nursing Vertical Head
 

Process :

The placement cell starts the process tentatively during month of September in the following pattern:

  • The cell invites applications for a position clearly mentioning set of skills, required for the vacant position over and above the minimum educational qualification.
  • Upon receipt of applications, the cell invites the applicants for the screening process.
  • The applicants are screened through a screening test designed to assess their technical competencies.
  • Applicants who clear the screening test qualify for the interview process. The eligible candidates are interviewed by the interview panel of the placement cell.
  • Most competent candidates are unanimously selected through the process, and are issued the appointment order.

D. Library Committee

 

Library Committee had been constituted for the purpose of smooth functioning of the library and coordination with all Heads of the Department, faculty members, students and the management. Library committee, which is a body consisting of persons who are assigned the job of looking after the library.

Functions of Library Committee:

  • To guide the librarian in formulating general library policies and regulations which govern the functions of the library.
  • To provide for proper documentation services and updating the library collection.
  • To work towards modernization and improvement of library and documentation services.
  • To formulate policies and procedures for efficient use of library resources.
  • To review library readership department-wise.
  • To adopt measures to enhance readership
  • To prepare budget and proposals for the development of the library.
  • To recommend to the authorities the fees and other charges for the use of the library.
  • To seek feedback on library functions from readers.
  • To submit the annual report on the functioning of the library
  • To take measures to increase the membership of the library beyond the boundaries of the college.

Objectives of Institutional Research Committee

  • Formulate policy and set standards on all research related matters for nursing research studies in accord with university guidelines.
  • Encourage research studies among faculty researchers
  • Promoting faculty members and students to participate and present research observations in the national and international conferences/ seminars/ symposia/ CNEs etc.

Functions of Institutional Research Committee

  • Conducting periodic meeting as scheduled
  • scrutinize and provide suggestions to research protocols of institution
  • Conduct periodic research methodology trainings to empower students and faculty on relevance, technical quality and ethical aspect of the research
  • Regularly monitor the ongoing studies
  • Keep record of research activities, participation/presentation / publication of research activities in national and international platforms

Gujarat Nursing Council

The Gujarat Nursing Council was established by the Gujarat Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act 1968 with the primary objective of maintaining uniform standard of Nursing Education adhering to Indian Nursing Council guidelines and provide license to nurses to work within the Gujarat state.
